Psychotherapy and EMDR therapy
Therapy practice
I am a psychologist and psychotherapy professional specialising in life crises, relationship conflicts, narcissism, grief, trauma, and legal and criminal matters. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults and young people, mental performance coaching for elite athletes, and clinical supervision.
I work in my own company, Mielenjuuri, and at Terveystalo. I see clients remotely over a secure video connection and work fluently in Finnish, English and Swedish. The length of treatment ranges from a few EMDR intervention sessions to longer courses of therapy.
How I work
I respect and value my clients. Each client is the expert on their own situation and needs. I take an active part in our conversations: I ask questions and share my observations so that we can think through the client’s situation together. My clients tell me that I am easy to connect with and that I understand them quickly. What they have in common is that they have been through difficult things and want to move forward in life. Attachment trauma, the loss of a loved one, relationship crises, a threatened sporting career, experiences of violence, legal proceedings, difficult relationships, conflicts at work and other setbacks in life are common experiences among my clients.
My approach is solution-focused. In my sessions, the conversation centres on the future the client hopes for. I use EMDR a great deal to neutralise memories that disturb the present. Thanks to my work experience and research background, I can also give my clients a lot of information when needed, for example about traumatic memories, how legal proceedings work, or narcissism. My way of working is open and non-judgemental, and it matters to me to create an accepting and safe atmosphere.
